Dear Friends and Neighbors,
For more than 20 years, Oxford has been my home. It’s where my husband and I raised our two boys, where I taught in the classroom, and where I’ve had the privilege of serving on organizations like the Granville Education Foundation, the Granville Health System Foundation, the Vance Charter School Board, and the Boys and Girls Club. Oxford is a place I love deeply—and it’s the reason I’ve decided to take the next step in service by running for City Commissioner.
Like many of you, I’ve grown concerned about the direction of our city’s leadership. Too often, mistrust, divisiveness, and a lack of transparency have gotten in the way of real progress. I believe we can—and must—do better.
I am committed to restoring civility, transparency, and competence in city leadership. That means listening to residents with respect, honoring the rule of law, and making thoughtful decisions that benefit our entire community—not just a select few. I believe growth should be responsible and supported by strong infrastructure—without placing unnecessary burdens on longtime residents. Development should serve the people of Oxford, not the other way around.
As a teacher, a stay-at-home mom, and a community leader, I’ve seen firsthand how collaboration and integrity can create meaningful solutions. That is the spirit I want to bring to City Hall—leadership that values service over politics and community over conflict.
Together, we can make Oxford stronger, fairer, and more united. I invite you to join me in this journey—share your ideas, lend your support, and help spread the word. With your partnership, I am confident we can build the kind of future Oxford deserves.
With gratitude,
Martha Wrenn
Candidate for Oxford City Commissioner
